Felip & Lola Amour’s Grand Glorietta Christmas

Thousands of fans were screaming their heads off at the Glorietta Activity Center last November 8, 2023. Three of the hottest young music acts were about to have a mini-concert: Felip, Zephanie and Lola Amour.

The concert was part of the Holiday Trails event that involves 4 malls: Ayala Malls Circuit, ONE AYALA Center, Greenbelt and Glorietta. A Christmas pilgrimage if you will, composed of tree lighting ceremonies, performances and specific gifts symbolizing the spirit of the season.

It was kicked off at Ayala Malls Circuit by an excerpt of NUTCRACKER from STEPS Dance Project and Christmas carols from TRUMPETS PLAYSHOP.

ACAPELLA GO gave a stirring rendition of Christmas classics at ONE AYALA. Then Christian Bautista wowed audiences at Ayala Malls Greenbelt 5 Gallery. Along with UST Singers and Style Dance Troupe. (Watch out for details of those performances and venues here in this website)

FELIP

SB19 member Ken Suson, now known as Felip debuted his new single MOVING CLOSER. The popular ballad is an original of NEVER THE STRANGER originally released in 2012. Which was such a huge hit, it became a theme for CLOSE UP TVC in 2013.

Felip also performed his hits ROCKSTA, PALAYO and CRIMINAL. He has distinguished himself by incorporating Cebuano and Filipino mythological themes in songs like BULAN. His most recent single COM-PLEX also has Cebuano lyrics. This is something he should do more to help introduce the Cebuano language and Filipino myths to a greater international audience. SB19 has gotten exposure in New York City and Korea. So it’s not unlikely that fans of Felip could also learn about Visayan Language and culture through his music.

New GCash TVC

Felip is still very much a leading force in SB19. The Glorietta performance 3 weeks ago was about the same time a new GCash TVC featuring SB19 (with him of course) was released on Youtube and aired on TV. Incidentally, another SB19 member, Josh Cullen has also successfully launched a solo career.

Movie heartthrob Joshua Garcia also featured prominently in WE WISH YOU A MERRY G CASH. The video summarized the ease and convenience of buying gifts or sending money to loved ones abroad and vice versa. GCash is so prevalent these days, sometimes it’s easier to give carolers their due by Gcash, via QR Code.

LOLA AMOUR

Rising band Lola Amour was just as crazily received by fans. They played their hits FALLEN, PWEDE BA and RAINING IN MANILA.

Also two weeks ago, Knorr SINIGANG Mix released an advert using RAINING IN MANILA as the theme. While rain can be seen through a glass window, lead singer Pio Dumayas is the chef, who picks up a 100gm pack of Knorr SINIGANG Mix. The whole band gleefully sings their chorus to a warm bowl of Sinigang. The TVC has been eagerly received by fans. At least better than the teaser for the official music video.
