Angels’ Voices Soar Towards Ayala Tower 2

Fortunately, we also have the angelic voices of the Les petits chanteurs à la croix de bois (The Little Singers of Paris) who performed at the Ayala Triangle Gardens, December 3, 2022. Their performance was for the grand opening of the MARCHE DE NOEL, French-Filipino Market that runs from December 2-31, 2022. Market hours – Monday to Friday: 5pm-11pm, Saturday to Sunday: 12pm to 11pm also at the Ayala Triangle Gardens.

Ayala Tower 2’s lower level has a new mall area called THE SHOPS. Ayala Tower 2, will also house the new Mandarin Oriental Hotel, set to open 2023.

In the background, you could see the tall, gleaming Ayala Tower 2. The crystal clear, young voices of The Little Singers of Paris seemed to reach the heavens, to the heights of the tower behind them. They sang the French National Anthem and a very traditional MAY IBONG KAKANTA-KANTA.

Young Soprano Yumi Sansano won the WCOPA 2019 Cup for Opera (Junior Division). Not to be outdone, the Philippine anthem was sung by Yumi Sansano, a young soprano who won the WCOPA 2019 Champion of the World Division – Winner for Opera (Junior Division). Sansano also performed at the kick-off event for the 75^th Anniversary Celebration of France and Philippine diplomatic relations last June 26 at the Pinto art Gallery in Antipolo.

MARCHE DE NOEL

Known as “Ambassadors for France” The Little Singers of Paris, were the perfect performers for the grand opening of MARCHE DE NOEL. Also included were LES GRANDES PERSONNES, literally translated as The Big People. Both kids and grown-ups were delighted by the puppets that stretched 10-12 feet tall.

On December 16 & 17, there will also be a show in MARCHÉ DE NOEL at the Ayala Triangle Gardens. Ilonggo acrobats are featured by CAMELEON, in ‘An Extraordinary Circus Show – Breakthrough: Unfolding Stories of Hope and Transformation’. The gentle giants LES GRANDES PERSONNES will also be there again. Make sure to bring the whole family, so they can enjoy the festive atmosphere and gourmet food at MARCHÉ DE NOEL.

Raclette & French Taco

The French Filipino Market has a lot of unique foods like the Raclette. Which is a Swiss / French dish, also popular in the other Alpine countries, based on heating cheese and scraping off the melted part. The LEMMY’S BISTRO stall in MARCHE DE NOEL serves Raclette and Crepes. OUI TACOS serves French inspired Tacos that you can customize with fillings like fries and sausage.

Quench your thirst with healthy cold drinks made from Guyabano leaves, another variety has Lemon Grass. There’s LITTLE FARMERS COFFEE and another stall that serves alcoholic ice cream. The market is really worth a visit and is easy on the wallet.

The Ayala Light Festival includes a free 3D show at the tunnel of Ayala Tower One and a separate Light show that includes the trees of the Ayala Triangle Gardens. Both of them can be seen every evening this Christmas season for free.

From Loboc to Paoay

The Little Singers of Paris embarked on a very successful tour of the Philippines that includes Bohol and Ilocos Norte. There was a wonderful exchange of voices, music and heartfelt sentiments only children can give one another.

The Loboc Children’s Choir (from Bohol) performed French songs while the Little singers of Paris sang Filipino classics, as well as their usual repertoire. The two choirs performed side by side in Loboc Church, and UNESCO Heritage site Paoay Church. The two choirs exchanged name tags, played and formed bonds that will last them a lifetime.

With stops at the Ayala Triangle Gardens and the Metropolitan Theater in Manila only for the ‘Ambassadors for France’. Their schedule: Loboc Church in Bohol (Dec 2, 5pm), Ayala Triangle Gardens (Dec 3, 4pm), Metropolitan Theatre Manila (Dec 5, 7pm) and Paoay Church, Laoag (Dec 7, 630pm).

Little Singers of the Wooden Cross

“Les Petits Chanteurs à la Croix de Bois, literally translated “Little Singers of the Wooden Cross” is a boys’ choir with its main location in Autun, France. It has its origins in 1907 in Paris, moved to Lyon during the Second World War, but moved back to Paris. It has toured widely inside and outside France.

The aim of its founders was to form a choir that would travel from place to place and bring to the people the splendors of Gregorian chant. Since then, and over 17,000 concerts later, secular and traditional world music has been added to their repertoire.

Drawn from the less privileged, the boys join the choir school at 9 or 10 years of age and remain until their 15th birthday. The choirboys board during the week, and the musical and educational curriculum that they follow is adapted specifically for them. Loboc Children’s Choir

“Besides performing in school, town and provincial events, the Loboc Children’s Choir has shared its music in countless festivals and concert halls around the world and has also won numerous competitions. In 1996 the kids went on their first tour across different cities in the US. They performed at the International Children’s Culture and Arts Festival in Tianjin, China; and serenaded Queen Sophia of Spain when she visited Manila in 2003.

In 2003, the group took home the gold medals in both the Youth Category and Grand Prize at the 6th International Folksongs Festival “Europe and its Songs” held in Barcelona, Spain.
